Конкурс переводов мультфильмов Translation & Drama Competition, 6 октября 2022
The contest is devoted to cultural heritage of the peoples of the world. It is designed to define the most extraordinary translation and dramatizing works. They should be introductions to traditions, myths, legends, fairy-tales or songs of some nationality of our diverse and multicultural world.

The competition will come in two parts. The main part will be presentation of your original translation work (3-5 minutes) as dramatization, PowerPoint presentation, poster (electronic poster) presentation, or recitation. Before your presentation, get prepared to give an information brief on the culture you will be presenting (2-3 minutes), in any form mentioned above.
What to translate?
You may choose some video of a cartoon featuring national traditions, values, or beliefs (find the list of sample cartoons at the end of the letter). Or, it can be any other piece of oral folk art which you can find in songs, books, or feature films, giving glimpses of some culture.
There will be two nominations in the competition: translation and presentation.
What are the criteria for translation work?
- accuracy of translation
- cohesion and coherence
- style.
What are the criteria for presentation?
- expressiveness
- emotional appeal
- artistic impression.
Who can participate?
- groups of Translation program trainees 1st, 2nd and 3rd years of study
- Undergraduates and Master students of NSTU and other universities of the city are welcome as well!
Please, mind that your translation works should be accompanied by subtitles in Russian (for videos) or a text in Russian on the screen, to easier follow the results of your translation efforts!
Please, send all your electronic demonstration materials (videos, Power Point presentation, poster (electronic poster) presentation, or whatever you plan to show at the event) to perevodchik.nstu@mail.ru before October 4th.
